I can go on and on about Raymond Carver, and most likely I will,
but for today I will settle with sharing this poem.
“Late Fragment" is a typical example of Raymond Carver's effortless,
yet, insightful way of describing our world.
Somehow these few lines always makes me smile.

you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth.
