Writing letters is slowly becoming a extinct artform. Yet, there is something distinctly more personal about a handwritten letter. To me, seeing and feeling handwriting, somehow makes me feel like the writer is in the room with me. Honestly, I firmly believe everyone and anyone would prefer a letter to emails or texts, yet, few of us ever bother to write one.
So, may be to spark some long-lost letter writing inspiration, I wanted take this moment to honor handwritten letters through this love letter by writer Jack London (1876-1916). The letter was written to his mistress Anna Strunsky. Although, many may argue that this letter is not as freely written as one may prefer in a romantic letter, I really appreciate his attempt to explain his feelings through logic and intelligence.
